The Transportation Division is seeking an experienced technologist who will coordinate the implementation of routine and complex engineering programs, requiring considerable and specialized professional skills and knowledge relating to specific areas of the design and construction of Municipal public works services.  Work assignments include the solution of difficult design problems, and the supervision of the related work of other employees.  Examples of some representative work in this position include: coordinating, collecting, organizing and analyzing transportation data; conducting traffic operational analysis; involvement with transportation planning for all modes such as transit, cycling, walking; and reviewing and organizing traffic safety related data. Candidates must have a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution; a minimum of 8 years related experience including experience in transportation design and principles; be eligible for membership with ASTTBC; possession of a Class 5 Driver’s License and a person vehicle for use as and when required.  Experience in Pavement Management Systems and Traffic Engineering practices and principles are necessary.  Experience and familiarity with transportation modeling would be an asset.  Must be well-organized and able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
