Enjoy working with activities such as swimming lessons, fun swims, snorkeling, waterpolo, diving and kayaking? You will need a desire to help kids learn skills and have fun in the water. These camps also include a mix of sports, crafts, games.
  • Specialty Day Camps (various Saanich Parks and Recreation locations) such as Cooking, Sports, Art, Skateboarding, Dance / Gymnastics / Preschool / Red Cross Babysitting:  Do you have some specific experience and passion in any of these areas? The competition will remain open until successful candidates are hired.

The District of Saanich is seeking Certified Water Fitness Instructors who will provide direct instruction, leadership and program management for recreation programs at Gordon Head Recreation Centre and Saanich Commonwealth Place.  The successful candidates will also ensure that participants are acting in accordance to the facility rules and that the facility and equipment are in safe, working condition.  Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience in the area of fitness instruction; satisfactory police information check; Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C as required. In addition, candidates must possess a BCRPA Certification in theory and Aquafitness Model or CALA (Canadian Aquafitness Leadership Alliance) or Y.M.C.A. Successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts depending on program registration.

The District of Saanich is seeking multiple Certified Group Fitness Instructors who will provide direct instruction, leadership and program management for recreation programs at our four recreation centers.  The successful candidates will also ensure that participants are acting in accordance to the facility rules and that the facility and equipment are in safe, working condition.  Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience in the area of fitness instruction; satisfactory police information check; Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C as required. In addition, candidates must also possess one of the following: BCRPA Certification, Can-Fit Pro Certification, National Strength Training Association Certification or Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.
