One-day delay for garbage and organics collection due to Gorge Canada Day Picnic
Due to road closures for the Gorge Canada Day Picnic, garbage and organics collection for affected homes (see map below for affected residences) scheduled on Wednesday, July 1 will be delayed by one day and collected on Thursday, July 2.
Please have carts out by 7 a.m. on collection day.
If you use the Saanich GreenerGarbage app, please note the app will still show July 1, but pickup will occur on July 2.
Regular biweekly collection will resume on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Yard and Garden Waste Drop-Off and Webcam
Location: 1040 McKenzie Ave
Current Yard and Garden Waste drop-off hours of operation:
- Monday: Open (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
- Tuesday to Saturday: Open (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Sundays and Statutory Holidays: Closed
- Upcoming Statutory Holiday Closures:
- Wednesday, July 1 - Canada Day
- Monday, August 3 - BC Day
Please note: Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest drop-off days, which sometimes results in longer line-ups at the Borden Street entrance. During these times, staff will direct traffic in a queuing route that may extend beyond what is shown on the Yard and Garden Waste Drop-Off and Webcam.
Please consider planning your drop-off during slower times such as late-morning and early-afternoon to avoid longer wait times.
