New work by Kassandra Klassen
add another wrinkle
November 15 to December 10, 2023
Opening Reception:
Saturday, November 18, 2023 from11:00am to 3:00pm
About the Artwork:
The ongoing theme of my work is finding ways to communicate sublime moments and other complex internal feelings where words don't do justice. I became a mother last year, and though I assumed a lot of my life would change; priorities, focus, body, I did not realize how much it would change. These unexpected changes, feelings and sensations, including the pure joy, are what I am exploring in this body of work.

About the Artist:
Kassandra Klassen (she/her) received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2015 from Emily Carr University. Her creative process blends drawing and painting and focuses on colour relationships and gestural mark-making. My work celebrates sensations that words can’t pin down and are lost in a moment. The sublime beauty of clouds turned bright orange at dusk, a tender moment with a loved one, or a longing for something out of reach.
Accessibility: Accessible washrooms, Wheelchair access, Designated handyDART loading zone and disabled parking stalls.
