The Resilient Saanich Technical Committee (RSTC) worked with staff and consultants in shaping the "Resilient Saanich" Environmental Policy Framework from 2020 to 2023. Committee members were specialists chosen by Council to advise and share expertise towards the development of "Resilient Saanich". Meet the RSTC members.
The aim of "Resilient Saanich" was to address current policy gaps and to effectively meet the initiative's, goals, and objectives for the natural environment. The process included the development of a Policy Framework and Biodiversity Conservation Strategy.
As part of their work, the RSTC produced a number of stand-alone documents related to the goals and objectives of the Resilient Saanich process. The documents linked here were endorsed by the RSTC at meetings held over 2021-23, and are the opinions of members of the RSTC.
Resilient Saanich Principles and Goals were endorsed by Council on August 22, 2022. They were developed through the RSTC along with feedback from a public process in 2021.
