A permit is required to remove, alter or work within the root zone of protected trees - a development permit is required first and once a permit has been processed, Saanich Parks will be contacted regarding any tree permits needed - you do not apply for a tree permit separately for development sites
Protected trees, as well as future tree planting sites, require fencing to protect these zones. Check out the tree protection signs you can print to place on the fencing:
