Description:

The District of Saanich is seeking casual Preschool Instructors at Saanich Commonwealth Place.  The successful candidates will be responsible for the instruction of Preschool Programs for children aged 3-5 years old and/or Parent and Tot Programs including Kindergym.  Preschool Instructors also ensure that participants are acting in accordance with the facility rules and that the facility and equipment are in safe, working condition. 

The ideal candidates will possess strong communication and organizational skills in providing direct instruction, leadership and program management of Preschool Programs.  This includes developing the class content and course outline, delivering clear and enthusiastic feedback to course participants, preparing the room and equipment necessary for instruction prior to the start of the session and storing it safely following end of class, and maintaining accurate attendance records.

The successful candidates will work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and/or Sunday mornings from approximately 9am to 12pm, up to a maximum 5.5 hours per week. These hours are subject to change based on program requirements.

Requirements include completion of Grade 10; 3 months experience working with preschool age children, related certification or when certification does not exist, training in the area of instruction of no less than three months; emergency first-aid and CPR-C.  Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months and Emergency First Aid and CPR-C.
