We have an exciting opportunity available for a temporary full-timeStrategic Projects Manager in the Transportation & DevelopmentServices Division. This position reports to the Senior Manager ofTransportation and Development Services and will be responsible foreff ectively leading and effi ciently delivering strategic, highly visible,cross-organizational projects. This position will drive the planning andexecution of work that strategically supports the Department to meetits goals in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan. Theposition requires a proven ability to lead large, complex municipalinitiatives through eff ective professional leadership.
Qualifi ed candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or arelated discipline/fi eld; eligibility for registration as a ProfessionalEngineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers andGeoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC), Project ManagementProfessional (PMP) or minimum profi ciency to pursue certifi cation, ten(10) years of experience in a combination of project and operationalmanagement including experience/responsibility managing diverse /complex technical projects and teams; a valid BC Class 5 Driver’sLicense; and a personal vehicle that meets the requirementsdescribed in the Transportation policy, available for use as and whenrequired. An equivalent combination of education and experience maybe considered.


In addition, candidates must also have professional knowledge anddiverse experience in the principles, methods and techniquesapplicable to civil/municipal infrastructure design and construction,specifi cally in retrofi t environments; demonstrated ability tosuccessfully lead teams in the delivery of multiple projectssimultaneously ensuring strong partnerships with internal andexternal stakeholders; demonstrated ability in applying engineeringbest practices in the review of reports and plans prepared byProfessional Engineers to ensure project outcomes achieved; andexcellent leadership and project management skills.
