Celebrate our Urban Forest!

Our 2024 Tree Appreciation Day aims to increase the number of trees planted on municipal lands, including parks and boulevards, across our neighborhoods. This year’s event will focus on
Bernard Park, located in the North Quadra neighborhood.

In 2019, the District of Saanich declared a climate emergency
and committed to expanding tree-planting efforts. Saanich Parks continues to play a key role in this mission, with various tree-planting initiatives aligned with our strategic goals for climate action and environmental leadership.

This project supports key goals, including:

  • Increasing the number of trees in Saanich to provide environmental benefits, such as improved air quality
    and stormwater management, while enhancing
    community spaces.
  • Engaging the community in recognizing and protecting
    our unique biodiversity and habitat.

We invite you to join us in making a difference. Tools, trees, and light snacks will be provided. Just bring your energy and enthusiasm!
