CRD issues warning for Elk and Beaver Lakes
October 18, 2016
The Capital Regional District (CRD) advises that water samples taken from both Elk Lake and Beaver Lake have tested positive for blue-green algae and associated cyanobacteria.
In a press release issued earlier this week, the CRD advises residents to:
- avoid Elk and Beaver Lakes
- prevent pets from drinking the water
- prevent pets from swimming in the water
The CRD is continuing to test the water and will post updates via www.crd.bc.ca/parks and Twitter @crd_bc.
