Saanich, BC – As of 9:00 p.m. on September 23, 2017, Karen Harper has been elected as Councillor in the 2017 Saanich municipal by-election. The District of Saanich and the Chief Election Officer wish to congratulate Karen Harper, and thank all voters as well as candidates who took part in the process.

- Karen Harper will be officially sworn in on October 16, 2017.
- Karen Harper will hold office until October 2018, which is the end of Council’s current term.
- A total of 9,521 votes were cast in this by-election.
