Underground infrastructure information now available to citizens
January 3, 2018
New information available to the public
Saanich continues to enhance the way citizens, businesses, public partners, vendor partners, and educational institutions can obtain, view, query and understand spatial information. Our data cataloge and GIS map tool contain information about Saanich parks, infrastructure and more.
We are pleased to publish 31 additional data layers bundled into three underground datasets: sanitary sewer, storm water, and waterworks.
Have a look at the Saanich data catalogue to explore the information available. The metadata link will describe what is included in the dataset.
This is the second installment of regularly requested data into the catalogue. Initial spatial datasets were published August 2016 and have been well received. If you are interested in interactive web viewing of Saanich's spatial information, please visit our GIS Map Service.
What is GIS?
Saanich GIS – an information service
The Geographic Information System (GIS) map service lets you access public data through maps. We aim to provide integrated, accessible and easy-to-use map tools that will enhance and support the community.
With the map service you can:
- View, query, create, print and share maps and reports with others.
- Access more than 90 layers of information. View the layers list [PDF - 22 KB].
