Saanich celebrates Tree Appreciation Day
Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich will celebrate Tree Appreciation Day with a public tree planting event at King Alfred Park November 2. The event encourages residents to improve their natural intelligence and enhance Saanich’s urban forests.
Saanich Parks staff alongside scouts, students and other passionate volunteers will plant more than 25 shade trees in the park. A couple hundred native shrubs and trees will also be planted in two restoration areas to enhance bee, butterfly and bird habitats.

Date: Saturday, November 2, 2019
Time: 10 a.m. to noon
Location: King Alfred Park, off of King Alfred Court
What to bring: Gloves, boots and a small shovel or spade
Light refreshments will be available after the planting. Street parking is limited near King Alfred Park, so please consider walking, riding your bike or taking transit to the event.
