Cyber Security Awareness Month is over but the lessons live on
Cyber Security Awareness Month is an international campaign held every October to share information about the importance of cyber security. Cyber security is the protection of computer systems from theft of or damage to their hardware, software, or data as well as protection from disruption or misdirection of the services they provide.
The District of Saanich takes cyber security seriously and makes every effort to ensure that staff are well-equipped to protect the information of the District and our residents.
This year’s theme was “Protecting our Devices” and over the past month our IT Division provided weekly updates with helpful information and tips relating to:
- Week 1: Taking stock
- Week 2: Phone week
- Week 3: Computer week
- Week 4: Network week
- Week 5: Smart device week
We would like to thank our staff for taking part in this important learning exercise.
