Over the past 50 years, the water quality at Elk/Beaver Lake has declined. This has significant impacts on the environment, social, cultural and recreation values of the lake and surrounding park.

The Elk/Beaver Lake Initiative is working to protect these lakes to ensure we can continue to enjoy them for years to come.

Help us protect the watershed - review the plan and take the survey

The development of a watershed management plan will address water quality issues through a public engagement process. These issues come from various land use activities around the lake as well as natural processes that bring nutrients into the lake.

Following the initial input from residents, the plan was drafted and an opportunity for public review is now available until February 27, 2020.
