Saanich, BC – Due to extreme winter weather, municipal hall, the municipal annex as well as the Engineering building at 3500 Blanshard Street will be closed to the public today.

Our four recreation centres also remain closed this morning. Cedar Hill Golf Course and Churchill Drive will remain closed. We will re-assess throughout the day and determine if any changes will be made as conditions permit.

Closure notifications and additional information will be posted on the Saanich website and the corporate (Facebook and Twitter) and Parks, Recreation and Community Services (Facebook and Twitter) social media accounts and shared with local media.

Snow removal

Saanich crews are clearing as quickly as possible on a prioritized schedule:

• Emergency access routes (in communication with Police, Fire and Ambulance)
• Major roads (high volume roads and connectors to our transportation system)
• Priority bus routes
• Pre-identified steep residential hills
• Priority sidewalks on bridges and pedestrian overpasses/underpasses
