Saanich Fire responds to chlorine leak Saanich Commonwealth Place, potential service impacts
Saanich, BC – At approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 7, Saanich Fire responded to a call at Saanich Commonwealth Place (SCP) related to a chlorine leak. The facility’s emergency shutoff system engaged immediately, the facility was assessed and air quality been deemed to be safe.
The maintenance team at SCP has identified the source of the leak and will be fixing the issue as soon as possible. There is no risk to the public as a result of this incident and no injuries have been reported; however, there could be service impacts depending on the timeline for the repair.
