Saanich, BC – Kids of Saanich, Mayor Dean Murdock needs your help! He’s looking for a new design for this year’s holiday cards, and he’s hoping for some festive inspiration from children in our community.
“Saanich is home to many talented young artists, and I’m Ho-Ho-Hoping they can provide me with their best designs that showcase their favourite part of the holidays,” says Murdock. “I am snow excited to see what everyone comes up with, and announcing the talented winner will no doubt be Claus for celebration!”
The contest is open to Saanich elementary school students in grades K-5. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, November 21, 2023 and they can be sent to media@saanich.ca. Parents and educators are encouraged to help children scan their design in the largest size possible, at a resolution of 300 ppi or higher. Don’t forget to include the artist’s name and grade in your email!
The holiday card from Mayor and Council will feature the winner’s drawing, as well as their name and grade. The winning design will also be featured in a holiday social media post for the District of Saanich.
The winner will be notified by email and announced on the District and the Mayor’s social media channels. The winner will receive a special prize, in addition to a signed holiday card from the Mayor.
