Saanich, BC – We have a winner! After careful evaluation and deliberation, Saanich Mayor Dean Murdock has selected the winning design for Mayor and Council’s 2024 Holiday Card design contest. Congratulations to Weston Taiji, a grade 2 student from Saanich!

“Weston’s snowy outdoor scene is the perfect image for our holiday card,” says Saanich Mayor Dean Murdock. “Winter is a magical time for all of us — whether you like to play outside in the snow, or cozy up inside and watch it fall — and Weston really captured that in his entry.”

As part of his prize, Weston is invited to the Municipal Hall to serve as Mayor for the Morning. He’ll get the opportunity to tour the Hall as well as our Police and Fire stations, and take part in various activities with the Mayor and Saanich staff.

“We can’t wait to welcome Weston and his family, celebrate his artistic talent, and have some fun too,” continues Murdock. “I also want to thank all of the kids in Saanich who shared their creative designs with us, and the parents and caregivers who helped them submit their work. I hope everyone enjoys a happy holiday season and I look forward to your entries next year.”
