Saanich’s 2024 Housing Needs Report now available

Saanich, BC – A comprehensive update to the Saanich Housing Needs Report (HNR) is now available on the District’s website for public viewing.

This robust report provides a current assessment of existing and anticipated future housing needs within Saanich, and is an important tool to help inform the District’s efforts to create more homes to meet the diverse needs of our community. It identifies the number of housing units needed for 5 and 20 years following the 2021 Census, and presents updated population and dwelling statistics; population and household projections; actions taken by the District since the last HNR; and statements regarding key areas of housing need.

Work will be undertaken in 2025 to ensure alignment between the findings in the 2024 HNR and the Official Community Plan and other key Saanich policies and bylaws.
