Upcoming closure on Sinclair Road

Saanich, BC – Starting on Monday, December 9, Sinclair Road will be closed 24/7 (including weekends) from Clarndon Road to Haro Road for storm drain installation.
Traffic barricades will be in place during this time, with signage to redirect traffic. Please consider alternate routes in advance. Local traffic will have access to personal residences.
This work is part of the multi-year Sinclair Road Upgrades Project, which will make commuting through Cadboro Bay safer and more accessible.
What is happening right now?
- Current closure:
7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. weekdays (in multiple locations) - Road closure locations change regularly as we progress with underground utility work.
What does the upcoming closure mean?
- Extended closure:
Monday, December 9 through Friday, December 20 - Sinclair Road will be closed 24/7 (including weekends) from Clarndon Road to Haro Road.
- There will be no through access on Sinclair Road for traffic. This section of road will only be accessible to local traffic for personal residences.
Businesses in Cadboro Bay Village remain open during construction (accessible by alternate routes) and access to University of Victoria parking lots will be permitted.

Saanich staff are updating the project with real-time traffic impacts. Residents can view the project designs and learn about the project goals, including new underground servicing, safer infrastructure, new bike lanes, and a new raised roundabout.
