Why are we doing this?
Saanich is building improved infrastructure on Shelbourne Street from North Dairy Road to Torquay Drive as part of the Shelbourne Street Improvements Project.

This multi-year infrastructure improvement project includes:

  • installation of new cycling facilities;
  • pedestrian safety improvements;
  • transit infrastructure improvements;
  • replacement of underground utility infrastructure; and
  • renewed asphalt road surface.

Many of improvements include upgrades to the vital underground utilities along Shelbourne, ensuring they continue to function safely and reliably far into the future. This work is complex and requires significant time to complete.

We thank the community for their patience and understanding as we complete this important infrastructure project to make Shelbourne safer and more accessible for all users.
