UPDATE: Testing Phase at Beckwith Park Splash Pad

Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich will reopen the splash pad at Beckwith Park temporarily this weekend, starting on Saturday, August 10 until Monday, August 12.

The Beckwith Park splash pad will run from its usual hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There may be some reduction of water volumes during this testing period.

The District would like to assure the public there are no health concerns.

This temporary reopening will allow for the collection of water samples downstream to understand possible impacts to aquatic life. Results will help inform staff as they continue to pursue short- and long-term solutions to get the splash pad up and running normally again.

Following the tests over the weekend, the splash pad will be closed again on Tuesday, August 13 so staff can evaluate the results and explore further options. We will share information on future reopenings as soon as we’re able.

People are also reminded that the Rutledge Park splash pad remains open, on a weather-dependent basis.
