Free enrolment in local business accelerator program

April 3, 2025

The District of Saanich is supporting Saanich businesses with the invitation to participate in the Project Zero Circular Economy Accelerator Program.

This opportunity represents an exciting opportunity for Saanich’s business community to uncover cost-saving opportunities, build lasting resilience and competitive advantages, and lead by example in sustainable practices.

How does the program help?

The Project Zero team will conduct a site visit and assessment to develop a personalized sustainability action plan to reduce energy, water, waste, emissions, and associated costs. They’ll also provide insights on adopting green technologies and innovative practices to enhance efficiency and revenue. The program requires a modest time commitment—approximately five to eight hours over an eight week period.

16 free spots available

In response to current Canada-US trade challenges, Project Zero announced 20 free spots for local businesses to take part in the program; as of April 3, 2025, 16 spots remain.

The accelerator, regularly valued at $5500, is available at no cost on a first-come, first-serve basis thanks to support from federal and local funding partners, including the District of Saanich. This initiative not only bolsters business capabilities but also positions participants as leaders in the circular economy, gaining public recognition for their proactive stance towards sustainability.

What kinds of businesses can apply?

We are encouraging businesses in the following fields (and beyond) to sign up: construction, manufacturing, hospitality, forestry, retail, food and beverage, agriculture, aquaculture and mining. The Project Zero team can assist with any questions.
