Overnight work at Shelbourne Street and Cedar Hill Cross Road

February 18, 2025

Construction and overnight work begins this week for improvements at the intersection of Shelbourne Street and Cedar Hill Cross Road. This section of work will take approximately one month to complete as part of Phase 3 of the multi-year Shelbourne Street Improvements Project.

During this work, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in either direction. Left turns will not be permitted at any time to aid the flow of traffic.

We encourage residents and commuters to plan alternate route travel when possible. Traffic signals will be turned off during construction and contracted personnel will be on-site to direct traffic. Please follow all signage and directions.

Traffic impacts:

  • No left turns: traffic will be reduced to single lane, with no left turns permitted 24/7.
  • Overnight work: 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday nights through Thursday nights, starting the evening of Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

What are we building in Phase 3?

Phase 3 includes significant underground service replacements (watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer), upgraded traffic signal infrastructure at Shelbourne Street at Cedar Hill Cross Road, improved crosswalk infrastructure and lighting, relocated power lines, new pavement and more.
