Temporary Detour on the Lochside Regional Trail in Saanich
January 15, 2025
Information Bulletin
For immediate release
Saanich, BC – Beginning in late January, the District of Saanich will be undertaking work to replace the Willow Bridge decking on the Lochside Regional Trail.
The existing timber decking is degraded and will be removed and replaced with new timber decking to ensure safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists. Construction work is weather dependent and is expected to take approximately two weeks once underway.
The District has coordinated a detour route for pedestrians and cyclists via Willow and Borden streets to the west; cyclists will be required to dismount at the 1.5-metre-wide Willow Street sidewalk connector.
Please slow down, follow all signage in place, use caution around equipment and crew, and respect fellow trail users, especially in the detour route area.
