Most of Saanich’s future growth is planned to occur in Centres and Villages, where complete communities supporting employment, shops, services, recreation, and public spaces are within walking distance. In addition, growth is planned along Corridors that link these Centres and Villages with each other and with regional destinations. This approach integrates land use and transportation planning, ensuring that planned density would be well served by Saanich’s active transportation network and Regional transit service.

A number of Centre, Corridor and Village (CCV) Plans have been completed in recent years. A workplan has been developed to guide future planning, with plans to be developed first in the McKenzie-Quadra Area starting in 2022.
