Description:

Gordon Head Recreation Centre is seeking a certified Aquatic Instructor II who will be responsible for ensuring patrons have an enjoyable and safe experience while participating in our registered and drop-in programs.

As an Aquatic Instructor II, you will be responsible for instruction of the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Programs and safety supervision of the participants at Gordon Head Recreation Centre. You will ensure participants are taught according to safety and skill standards outlined by Saanich and certifying aquatic agency.  The Aquatic Instructor II is also responsible for evaluation of participants, record keeping, and public relations.

Requirements include completion of Grade 10, and minimum age of 15 years old; minimum three months of related experience; current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Award; and a satisfactory police information check with vulnerable sector check (PIC-VS) no older than 6 months.

The successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change).
