Position Highlights

This role requires you to work across two locations, G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre and Braefoot Park Centre, with the possibility of traveling between facilities during your shifts. 

These are three permanent part-time positions available:

-       one position at 14 hours per week

-       two positions at 30 hours per week.

The successful candidates will work varying shifts including nights, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre and Braefoot Park Centre have exciting career opportunities for multiple Building Service Workers.  As a Building Service Worker I, you will perform routine work performing custodial care, cleaning and daily maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities, which includes assisting the Building Service Worker II – Arena with routine ice maintenance and Zamboni operations. You will possess sound knowledge of custodial and maintenance procedures and experience with up-to-date cleaning methods, minor building and equipment repair, and the use, care and upkeep of the materials and equipment used.

As a qualified candidate, you will have: Grade 11 or equivalent; Building Service Worker Level 1; three months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within one year; and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
