G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre has an exciting career opportunity as a Building Service Worker to perform maintenance work in the general operation and service maintenance of ice arenas and other associated buildings and equipment in municipal recreation facilities. The Building Service Worker II - Arena performs various maintenance functions involving ice making and resurfacing, building equipment maintenance and repair, custodial and cleaning tasks.

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Refrigerator Operator certification (RO); over three months and up to six months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within 1 year; Occupational First Aid Level I and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.  Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This is shift work including days, afternoons, evenings on weekends and weekdays (37.5 hours per week).
