Description:

District of Saanich is looking for an experienced Bylaw Officer to investigate, report and resolve District parking, street and boulevard use violations. The successful candidates will conduct customer-centric, compliance-oriented patrols of the district by vehicle or foot patrol to enforce the District’s Streets and Traffic Bylaw, Boulevard Regulation Bylaw, Parks Management and Control Bylaw and other regulations. The ideal candidate for this challenging role will possess strong observation and communication skills and will handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. Attention to detail and proficiency in word processing software and database applications are equally as important.

Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent; one year of experience in enforcement or regulatory work; experienced in office practices and procedures; possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Police Information Check no older than 6 months. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Hours of work may include early mornings and evenings, and weekends. The hours may evolve over time depending on operational requirements and are therefore, subject to change. The successful candidates will be required to work a flexible schedule to suit the requirements of the job.
