Description of work/program: Engineering is looking for a Customer Service File Clerk to join a great team at 3500 Blanshard, see duties below:
- Answer telephone and counter complaints/inquiries/comments, provide routine information and/or direct visitors and callers to appropriate staff.
- Receive email complaints/inquiries/comments requiring input into Tempest Calls for Service or forward on to the correct staff person to address.
- Receive online and in-person permit applications, create and enter permit information, assign to staff, update tracking information and issue a variety of permits using Tempest. Expire permits as needed.
- Provide clerical support to the various sections of the Engineering department as needed (order business cards, update circulation lists, review notices or letters, etc.).
- Sort, log, distribute incoming mail (2x week).
- Process fees received with Tempest cash collections. Payments are received in the form of either cash, cheque, debit card or credit card. Issue receipts for payments.
- Responsible for opening/closing/balancing a daily batch (on days sales are made) and maintaining a cash float. Send batches/payments to Finance (2x week).
- The role includes opportunities to participate in exciting social committee activities, gain experience on the emergency management committee, and provide support to a wide range of services that our team delivers!
Ideal candidate(s) will have:
- Completed Grade 12 or equivalent plus additional courses of up to one year in office administration
- Experience in an office environment in a customer-facing role is an asset
- Experience with Tempest (calls for service, cash collection, Prospero) is an asset
- Experience with the use of MS Suite is an asset

Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
