The Transportation and Development Services Division oversees the design and installation of municipal-owned and 3rd party infrastructure within municipal rights-of-way. Working under the direction of the section manager or Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician III performs technical work at a semi-professional level. Duties involve both field and office assignments related to the field of civil engineering design, including transportation design, inspection of construction projects within the municipality, project documentation, and liaising with the public and consultants. This position manages projects as defined within the framework and guidance developed by the Project Management Office.

Requirements include: a two year post-secondary program in Civil Engineering Technology; three years of directly related experience in civil engineering design including drafting, or public works inspection, installation and approval procedures or in both drafting/surveying; eligible to be registered as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC; conversant with computer based engineering applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
