Braefoot Park Centre, Saanich Commonwealth Place and Gordon Head Recreation Centers are seeking experienced and qualified instructors to offer basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Instructor II ensures that participants learn how to provide care for children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies.
The ideal candidates will have the ability to be inclusive and flexible to ensure a positive environment is created for all participants; demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills; and the ability to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm and personal motivation.
Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience in related area of instruction; Red Cross Youth Leader Award; Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (PIC-VS) no older than 6 months; Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C required. An equivalent combination of education and expertise may be considered.
The successful candidates will work Evenings and Weekends in varying shifts as required (hours/shifts are subject to change).
