Description:

The District of Saanich is seeking up to five Instructor III – Ceramics to provide ceramics instruction for programs through the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre and Arts Centre. Successful candidates will develop and lead ceramics classes for a variety of age groups, including school-age children and teens, in summer camps, pro-d days, and workshops. Program planning, preparation, and coordination will be essential aspects of the role.

Candidates will be expected to deliver engaging and age-appropriate instruction, while fostering a creative and welcoming environment for participants ranging from ages 5 to teen. The ideal candidates will demonstrate advanced ceramics skills, strong communication abilities, and creativity, ensuring that all participants have a positive and educational experience while engaging in hands-on ceramics activities.

Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience instructing program area; certification and training in area of instruction in accordance with Industry Standards; a Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check. Emergency First-Aid and CPR “C”, as required.

The successful candidate will be required to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends. Shift opportunities for July and/or August would be Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 12:30 pm and/or 12:30pm to 4:30pm.
