About the Role
The key roles and responsibilities as the senior IT technical expert are to support the day-to-day operations of Saanich’s device management services, including endpoint management, endpoint security, print management and mobile field devices support. You will execute complex district wide operational duties and bring your passion for technology and leadership that are critical to the organization.
The successful candidate will lead a team of IT specialists that will be maintaining our device management services for all end point devices, enhancing user experience, ensuring security and fostering adoption of new client technologies at the District.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of device management systems and strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across all platforms
- Analyze system requirements and ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing support to internal stakeholders
- Keep informed on the latest industry trends and apply them to improve services

Who We Are Looking For
A tech-savvy professional with experience in device management and system analysis with a proven ability to lead projects and drive performance improvements. The SA III will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure with excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts to broader audiences. You will be a team player who values collaboration and embraces new challenges.
Requirements include a University Degree in the field of Computer Sciences, Information Technology or related discipline with six years’ experience in related roles including two years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment and possession of a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License. Possession of current industry certifications and ITIL certification would be an asset. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
