Wilkinson Bridge project update: closure begins June 6

May 31, 2016

Saanich, BC - Full closure of Wilkinson Road between Mann Avenue and Greenlea Drive will begin Monday, June 6 as part of the Wilkinson Bridge Replacement / Colquitz Trail Extension project. The closure is expected to run until November 2016.

Local access including emergency services, Saanich solid waste collection and the CRD recycling pick-up will be maintained from the Greenlea Drive and Mann Avenue ends respectively to the bridge site.

This project replaces a critical piece of transportation infrastructure while providing new bike lanes, sidewalks, trails, and upgrades to utility infrastructure. As a result of this project, residents and visitors will benefit from a new bridge, improved road features and extended trails.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for an alternative route and avoid the area if possible.

Saanich recognizes the impact that the construction phase of this project will have on the neighborhood and commuter traffic. We appreciate the public’s cooperation as we work to improve this area.

Quick Facts:
