Pool program cancellations

Unfortunately, we have cancelled some swimming lessons at Gordon Head Recreation Centre (GHRC) and Saanich Commonwealth Place (SCP) in addition to reducing pool hours at SCP due to staff shortages. We understand our patrons are disappointed with the cancellations and reduced hours and apologize for the inconvenience.

We are experiencing staff shortages similar to other industries across Canada. We are actively recruiting with current job postings available for multiple aquatic instructors and lifeguards at both centres.  

If your program has been cancelled, you will be contacted directly by recreation staff and offered a credit/refund.
