Splash Pad Status Update

  • In order to not overwhelm our drainage system, Rutledge Park splash pad will only operate during dry conditions and remain closed when it rains or rain is forecasted. 

  • Lochside Park Lighting Improvements Project  
    • July 29, 2024 Saanich Fusion will be starting the lighting improvements project and it's anticipated to take until mid-September for completion.
    • There will be minor disruptions in the park as machinery will be coming in with the new lighting fixtures with trenching for electrical lines and an electrical kiosk to be installed near the artificial turf field in the park. A few trees will be removed and pruned as part of the project which have been approved.
  • McMinn Park bike skills course NOW OPEN!
  • Churchill Dr to the top of PKOLS (Mount Douglas Park) remains closed over long weekends. 
  • McMinn Park pickleball courts resurfacing is complete and the courts have re-opened.
  • Colquitz Park Green Shores Restoration Project –  Visit the project page to learn more.
  • To respond effectively to the growth of Pickleball, Saanich partnered with other local municipalities to develop the Pickleball Strategy for Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay and Esquimalt. The report has been published; visit the Strategy website for more information.
  • Whitehead Park at Prospect Lake - ramp closed until further notice.
  • Saanich Parks Pulling Together Volunteers recognized in Chek News segment
  • Washrooms are now open year-round at Tyndall Park Clubhouse.

  • Please enjoy our parks and trails while providing personal space to other park guests and respecting peoples' personal choices. 
  • Host an event outdoors in a park: obtain a valid permit for use of any sports field or priority use of picnic tables. 
  • If you pack it in, pack it out! Anything you bring to a park should go home with you. Please never leave trash, food containers, animal waste or other items.
